Royston Norris was born and raised in
Glastonbury, England.
He attended Glaston Tor School for Boys until 1961.
The grounds of which later became the
beautiful Chalice Well Gardens.
He spent most of his life living and working locally.
Inevitably, absorbing some of the
alternative culture of that extraordinary little town
and the musical influence of Glastonbury Festival.
He had been fascinated by music and musicians,
ever since he bought his first instrument in the 1960s.
He had been a member of several rock bands, over the years.
Essentially a bass guitar man;
his beloved Fender Jazz Bass being his 'workhorse'.
Though he also played acoustic guitars in folk groups
and sometimes he sang.
He enjoyed "just messing around" with his electric guitars.
He was also a guitar tutor.

In 1994, as a mature student, he went to College;
enrolling on a City & Guilds Signwriters Course.
This had the effect of rekindling his interest in Art
and the two artforms; music and painting,
became interwoven.
On leaving College, he set up a small signwriting
business in Glastonbury. Taking it with him, when he
relocated to the South Devon coast in 2001.
In tandem with his business, he painted.
Many of his paintings are in the collections of
well known musicians and singer-songwriters.
Others are others are in private collections
around the world.

In 2013 he moved to the coast of Southern Spain,
to magical Mojacar;
known as 'This Corner of Enchantment'.
